GUIDING PRINCIPLES
COMMUNITY
INTEGRATION
Community integration means sharing the same spaces and experiences as everyone else, not a parallel version of them. We go where everyone else goes: local parks, restaurants, festivals, shops, and community spaces, using everyday vehicles, everyday settings, and everyday experiences.
BUILDING MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS
Relationships take trust to build, and trust is built through reliability, positive experiences, and emotional safety. That safety starts with the group itself and we think carefully about who's grouped together so each person is set up to meaningfully connect, not just attend.
PERSON
CENTERED
Every participant has a different history, different strengths, and different support needs. Our intake process is how we learn about each person we support before we work with them, so we know how to meet their individuality.
DIGNITY OF
RISK
Every person deserves the chance to try new things, take on new challenges, and experience life fully, and that the right support makes all the difference. We support people in stepping outside of their comfort zones, and taking risks safely so they can grow, gain confidence, and live life to its fullest.
SAFETY WITHOUT
RESTRICTION
We take safety seriously and we don't let it become a reason to say no. Our job is to find a way to make things work, not to avoid risk at the expense of experience. We plan carefully, communicate openly with families, and show up prepared so participants can experience more out of life.
